09.08.2021 - I am restless.

I am restless. I need to be on the move. I can no longer sit still.

So today I got up and I walked. I didn’t know where I was going. I had no idea wether I was moving towards something, or away from something, but I walked.

And at the worst possible moment too. I mean, no person in their right mind would even go outside on a hot day like this, in the south of France, where the sun is hitting the hardest around noon.

I started out by just choosing a general direction and kept on by always following the paths that offered the most shade. That did work out all right for a while until there was no shade left to hide in and I just kept close to whatever bushes or hedges were around. At one point I felt so exposed under the sun that I considered jogging to get to the trees faster. I didn’t though.

I did not meet one single fellow walker for the entire duration of my walk, and I can guess why. I had a great time by myself though, walking without a specific goal, discovering my surroundings, spending time with my thoughts and finding distraction from them at the same time.

I might or might not do this again soon.
Here are some impressions of my walk.
